PAYMENT

Please review your order with Customer Support BEFORE payment. Contact Customer Support at 708-655-5299 or orders[at]deep-roots-project.org to ask any questions and to review your order prior to payment. Orders can be placed online with credit card payment OR they can be placed by phone or email. Checks are welcome: mail a check to Deep Roots Project, 323 S. East Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302. After we receive payment we begin building your bed.

DELIVERY

We build and deliver raised beds filled with High-Nutrient Blend compost March -October. Delivery is by truck to Chicagoland locations. FREE delivery in Oak Park area. For delivery outside of the FREE area, fees vary depending upon your distance from Oak Park. Delivery of beds generally occur after 3 weeks from the initiation of your bed construction. Customer support will arrange a delivery date by phone or email. No deliveries between November 15 and February 28.

BED CONSTRUCTION

The beds are 15” deep and constructed from 1 inch thick Eastern cedar boards. Our beautiful unique design was created by our master in-house engineer Will Schreiber. Cedar boards are rot resistant and last several times longer than pine or fir boards. Our optional chemical-free varnishing service further extends the life of your bed. We build beds in standard sizes and custom sizes.

HIGH-NUTRIENT BLEND COMPOST

Our nutrient dense 100% compost called Organimix is better than conventional soil for growing food. Organimix can be a soil amendment before planting a new crop since it restores the nutrients used by the previous crop. Organimix can also be a nutrient dense mulch for edible seedlings. But most importantly Organimix along with our High Nutrient Worm Castings is essential for planting seedlings (transplants) and seeds. Organimix is certified organic for food production by Organic Materials Research Institute (OMRI). Organimix includes 20% composted cow manure and 80% plant-based material. Don’t use Organimix for decorative non-food gardens since flowers, native plants, shrubs, trees don’t like the high nutrient content. See our blog post for more details.

Cost of fully assembled, installed bed filled with High Nutrient Blend compost:

• 4 x 8 ft. bed (32 sq ft) holds 40 cubic feet of compost – $775 (most popular)

• 4 x 7 ft. bed (28 sq ft) holds 35 cubic feet of compost - $700

• 4 x 6 ft. bed (24 sq ft) holds 30 cubic feet of compost – $690

• 4 x 4 ft. bed (16 sq ft) holds 20 cubic feet of compost– $540

• 2 x 8 ft. bed (16 sq ft) holds 20 cubic feet of compost – $560

• 3 x 8 ft. bed (24 sq ft) holds 30 cubic feet of compost – $680

• 3 x 7 ft. bed (21 sq ft) holds 26 cubic feet of compost – $630

• 3 x 6 ft. bed (18 sq ft) holds 22.5 cubic feet of compost – $590
