We make growing food easy and economical.

Please share your thoughts! Send us your food gardening stories and photos. How did our food growing method work for you, your neighbors, and friends? A short comment is fine. But, if you write a 500 word story, we will give you a free half cubic foot bag of worm castings fertilizer.

Our booming, vibrant community of “Grow Your Own” enthusiasts includes gardeners of all levels – beginners, intermediate, and advanced. Our team researches the latest science on organic growing methods. See why we are innovative.

By adopting our method – you are making a commitment to your health and to the well-being (and future) of your marvelous, threatened planet.

DRP gardeners appreciate Mother Nature more.

These last two years, many DRP gardeners had the opportunity to spend some precious, extra time on getting to know Mother Nature better and on appreciating her more. We invite you to view the video below that celebrates what Austin Price, one of our favorite environmental journalists, has called, “The Magic in Everyday Nature.”

Client Testimonial

DRP’s cedar beds & planter boxes combine graceful design with practicality. They add beauty to your garden, but most importantly, they will last many Chicago winters. For this reason, they are chosen not only by homeowners, but also by churches, synagogues, schools and landscape architects throughout the Chicago area.

Thumbs up for our beautiful & durable cedar raised beds!

“CYLA Design Associates had the pleasure to work with Deep Roots Project on a client’s garden in Oak Park. The house is an early house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The clients were very hands-on and wanted a vegetable garden to raise tomatoes and other veggies. In our garden plan we designed a small rectangular space for two raised container beds. We were very happy to partner with Deep Roots and benefit from their expertise with wood construction and proper soils. The finished raised wood beds with Deep Roots-produced soil are very sturdy and handsome, and the clients are delighted. This season their tomato plants are happily flourishing in the new beds.”Karen Heller, Senior Associate, CYLA Design Associates, Inc., Landscape Architecture & Planning, Oak Park, IL
